:: Towards Autonomy
Federations
In the process of decentralization, Federations have emerged as a stronger unit at mandal level that concretize Sangham's vision and play an active role in influencing micro-level planning. After intensive brainstorming and insightful discussions the Sanghams have come up with a structure. Each Sangham has a representative in the federation committee. The strong and articulate women, who pave the path for those coming later, are selected by the Sanghams.
Networking and linkages with departments and institutions is one of the strategies of the federation in their journey towards sustainability. MS has facilitated this process and is building their capacities to enable them reaching their goal.
In the process of attaining autonomy, the federations are addressing core issues of equity, viz., girls' education, reproductive health rights, food security and livelihood issues. They are also evolving into conflict resolution mechanisms.
